Introducing Chefs 4 Save Windermere

We are excited to announce our upcoming Chefs 4 Save Windermere event, taking place at Gossel Ridding, Windermere, from September 11th to 16th.

Join us for a culinary extravaganza in the heart of Windermere, where the finest locally renowned chefs will come together for a week-long celebration of gastronomy, all in support of the Save Windermere campaign. Indulge your taste buds as the county’s top Michelin-starred and critically-acclaimed chefs showcase their culinary prowess, crafting exquisite dishes using the finest local ingredients.

What is Chefs4SW?

The Lake District boasts a remarkable number of Michelin-starred chefs, surpassing any other region in the country outside London. This fundraising event aims to showcase the exceptional talents of our local culinary masters.

Spearheaded by Barney Cunliffe of The Gilpin Hotel & Lake House, each evening of the week will feature different chefs and restaurants, all dedicated to using local, sustainable and nature-friendly ingredients, sourced from our incredible farmers.

Over 6 nights, leading chefs will cook up culinary delights in an intimate tented setting overlooking the lake. Each table seats 10, giving a capacity for 100 guests to attend each night.

The line up is extraordinary…

We are grateful to Michelin-starred chefs Simon Rogan and Paul Burgalières of L'Enclume, Ryan Blackburn from The Old Stamp House, joined by former 3 star chef Steven Doherty, Ollie Bridgwater from SOURCE at Gilpin Hotel, and Richard Swale and Anthony Amos from Allium, Askham Hall, joined by Ben Queen-Fryer from The Dog and Gun Inn Penrith, who will provide fine dining and wine on four nights.

Craig and Shaun Edmundson of the Brown Horse Inn at Winster (winners of Cumbria's Best Pub and Bar in 2023) will host a traditional pub night, while Aakash Ohol of Gilpin Spice and Tom Westerland of Knipe Grill at Gilpin Lake House will offer a sophisticated "barbecue night”, showcasing their mastery of cooking over fire.

Book your tickets now.

We are expecting places to fill up quickly so please do reserve a table as soon as possible, for an unforgettable evening with friends, or as a well-deserved treat for your hardworking staff.

By attending, you not only ensure a delightful experience but also contribute to the Save Windermere cause, supporting our new data collection initiatives, our increasingly successful Parliamentary lobbying, and our legal challenges to safeguard our lake for present and future generations.
