“Windermere is dying and people swimming in it have been exposed to potentially toxic algal blooms, according to one passionate eco campaigner.
Lake District conservationist Matt Staniek has blasted what he calls ‘horrendous’ blue green algal blooms in the incredibly popular tourism destination, and is calling for action to tackle the issue. This is despite the fact that a new partnership group has been set up to tackle the environment challenges at the lake.”
