Surfers Against Sewage Join Save Windermere's Weekly Strike

On Monday 17th June, our weekly Strike Against Sewage saw an incredible turnout, bolstered by the presence of one of the oldest sewage campaigns in the country, Surfers Against Sewage. The surfers kicked-off their UK Election Road-Trip at Save Windermere’s weekly strike, before heading up to Edinburgh for the first of many hustings that they are hosting around the country ahead of the election.

Surfers Against Sewage joined us in Windermere, arriving with all the paraphernalia – surf boards, gas masks and a huge bus! – and passion that has made them a leading voice in the fight against water pollution. Their support underscores the importance of our mission and highlights the growing national concern over sewage pollution in England’s largest lake.

The solidarity and enthusiasm were palpable, making it clear that our collective voices are growing stronger.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this event so memorable.

Our next event, is taking place on 29th June. The Save Windermere March Against Sewage will start at 10am outside the United Utilities Information Centre in Windermere. We’ll be joined by some special guests as we march down from Windermere to the lakeshore on Glebe Road. You don’t want to miss it!
